How We Met

well would you believe that a well traveled, missionary boy from Pennsylvania, USA met a city, career driven girl on the romantic planes of Mozambique, Africa!


Nat, who has spent the last seven years working with YWAM leading teams and equipping people who have a heart to help fight against the pandemic of poverty in third world countries, received an opportunity to settle in Mozambique. as Nat spent the next two and a half years serving in Moz his love for the African people grew and he knew he wanted to spend more of his life investing in the improvement of this country that has been devastated by over 15 years of war.

though Nat was happy and content living the adventurous life of a missionary he always wondered how he would meet that special someone when spending so much time away from his own culture. in April of 2007 Nat found the girl of his dreams...........in Africa!

Salena, who had spent the last six years building her career as a hairstylist decided that she wanted to finally fulfill her life long dream of going on a mission trip. she gave up six months of time with close family and serving her personal clients at her much loved job. travelling alone, she arrived in Mozambique anxious for what the next few months where going to reveal. though leaving home was difficult it didn't take long for Salena to see that Mozambique was a place she could call home.

Three weeks after her arrival Nat returned to Africa, from visiting family in the USA. it didn't take long for these two love birds to realize they were meant for each other!
